Goldschmidt 2013

Kimberley1I’m heading to Florence this week for the Goldschmidt Conference, where I will be presenting some new results relating to a suite of garnet peridotite xenoliths from the Kimberley pipe, including XANES measurements.

I’ll be talking on Wednesday (28th) at 11.45am in U04 as part of Session 05c: Investigating the origin and modification of cratonic mantle over time: The role of diamonds and xenoliths. My presentation is titled: Oxygen Fugacity in the Kaapvaal Cratonic Lithosphere – Evidence from Fe XANES Measurements of Fe3+ in Garnet from the Kimberley Pipe and you can find the abstract here. I’m also involved in the work relating to Greg Yaxley’s keynote presentation at 2.30pm on Wednesday, here’s the information.

I’m looking forward to a great meeting with lot’s of great science and the chance to meet new people and catch up with old friends.
